Civil Engineer

We are looking for an Civil Engineer for a public sector company based in London.

Job title - Civil Engineer

Duration - 3 months

Location - Mansfield

Rate - GBP430 per day

Highways experience is preferred
DMRB standards design manual for roads and bridges
Working knowledge of highways drainage how they operate and design
Ability to problem solve/experience of developing highways drainage
Experience in mixed project in drainage is required

Description:

• To develop work plans for discrete areas, including identification of improvements to systems, capabilities and/or process.
• To use existing and emerging engineering practice to deliver work plans, which improve systems and products and provide advice and services for the benefit of customers. To generate and present documentation and reports internally and externally in order to meet the needs of the customer, including; maintaining capability, integrity, standards; and/or communicating advice and knowledge and/or promoting reputation.
• To mentor and provide engineering advice to other team members to improve the effectiveness of the team. To carry out continuing professional development in line with current and future need

Experience Required:

• Identification and development of drainage schemes from the original data analysis to value management and present recommendation for approval to the Drainage Asset Manager
• Engage with Technical specialists to identify sustainable and best value solutions, within the funding and asset constraints.
• Discuss potential solutions with the design services contractor and also the construction contractor to make sure the solution is buildable and has considered their own requirements.
• Engagement with landowners, stakeholders and member of the public to understand their needs and concerns as part of the identification of the problem and solution
• Engage with the Design Contractor and CWF contractors to develop a sustainable solution, taking into account new techniques and materials.
• Provide technical advice to the supply chain and across client in relevant field
• Maintain and assist in the development of client databases and inventories of asset drainage data.
• Carry out Site surveys to understand the asset needs
• Prepare packages of work for the design team, ensuring the scope of the project is clearly defined
