Our client has a fantastic opportunity for a senior engineering manager (in a Deputy Plant Manager role) to be responsible for the maintenance and reliability of its 32 acre site, comprising of seven manufacturing workshops within three key operational areas.
This role directly manages four managers who’s responsibilities are split between: reliability, workshop, lubrication & inspections, reporting, spares and shift maintenance.
This challenging role will lead and develop a clear strategy for preventative and autonomous maintenance which will improve plant performance, reduce cost and improve product quality.
In 2017 they celebrate 30 years in operation: When they began at their Easton-In-Gordano (near Portbury docks) site, they had just one manufacturing plasterboard plant. Today they have two plasterboard operations, a cove line, laminating (finished product) and formulated products. And last year they increased the headcount in this function by 14 positions to enhance the development opportunities for engineers at all levels, better utilise the skills and expertise in the business and improve service quality to production.

This position has tremendous progression opportunities at Bristol, nationally and within the Group. It will require you to have the drive and energy to continue what has been started with the new engineering organisation, have significant people management (including managing of managers), performance management and development experience. You will be accustomed to managing your own budgets and have a solid base of engineering qualifications and expertise. Operational management experience within a 24/7 manufacturing facility is advantageous.
