Our client is currently recruiting for 2x Despatch Operators at our new facility at Castleford.

Hours of work: Alternating weekly - 06:00 to 14:00 / 13:55 to 21:55 - 40 hours per week

Purpose of the Role:

Work within a team structure and accept deliveries, load vehicles, locate stock, pick stock and stock count/check when required. Operate safely, effectively and efficiently to provide a service to all customers of the department both internal and external.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Receipt and despatch of supplier/customer/3PL deliveries
  • Accurate completion of paperwork relating to all aspects of the department
  • Safe operation of MHE (Mechanical Handling Equipment) (must be licenced before operation)
  • Rotate around all department roles (once fully trained)
  • Ensure H&S policies and procedures are adhered to for personal and colleagues safety
  • Work in conjunction with other team members towards KPI targets
  • Operate and demonstrate 6S rules of the work place
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with colleagues, suppliers and customers offering support at all times
  • Willing to develop and be trained in all aspects of the department, particularly for H&S and manual handling policies and procedures
  • Understands and complies with the requirements of the Environmental Management System (EMS) and the Environmental Permit as part of their day to day activities
  • To carry out any other task commensurate with this post

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Distribution/Warehouse qualification (Desirable)
  • FLT Licence (counter/reach/VR/PPT) at least one type required
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to motivate self to achieve deadlines
  • Professional and confident aptitude (at all levels)
  • Fast paced environment, preferable gained within a manufacturing environment
  • Previous warehouse experience is required
  • Must be computer literate in all office programs and specifically in stock control programs such as (AS400, Movex, Red Prairie, Formul8, SAP etc.) both as a user and trainee
