The company now have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced sales or commercial trainer to join their global organization in order to build on the commercial and technical training team.

Job Role:

The role requires a dynamic approach to training, with a focus on building value selling training content, developing effective training techniques through various mediums and developing progressive trainee competency assessments & certification for both direct & channel partner's commercial teams.

A critical responsibility of this function is the cross functional collaboration around improving training content, quality in communications and supporting the growth of the business.

As team leader, you will be responsible for managing a team of two full time trainers and a content/media apprentice, whilst also developing and driving forward their strategic approach to delivering training globally.

Given the global audience, the role necessitates some international and UK travel, with the potential to be abroad for extended periods of up to two weeks, a number of times per year.

Within this role, you will have key responsibilities for:

  • Creating and developing commercial training to support the existing and future product range.
  • Creating and developing essential sales skills material to support channel partners and commercial teams
  • Developing and implementing the global training strategy.
  • Designing & developing both face-to-face and online training courses, tools & methods to support all products.
  • Expanding digital training and self-service training tools & resources with the objective of enabling customers to become technically & commercially self-reliant.
  • Conducting assessments, during training and on a scheduled basis to ensure the competency of partners.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring, coaching and support to training participants.
  • Leading the training function, including day-to-day management of the team.

The Candidate:

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering commercial / sales skills training.
  • A sales or commercial training background, including experience in value selling training
  • Ability to develop sales training content & techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with various training mediums including face-to-face and remote training
  • The ability to work under pressure whilst managing multiple activities simultaneously

Desirable

  • Educated to Degree Level.
  • Experience of working within a process driven manufacturing environment that supplies technical products, solutions or services through a global distribution network.
  • Understanding of engineering principles (electrical and/or mechanical); this could have been gathered through education or work experience
