Salary: L24 to L39 (GBP67,963 to GBP97,128)
Start Date: September 2017
The Governors are looking to appoint an inspirational Head Teacher with a proven track record of highly effective school leadership to take our Area Special School into the next phase of growth and development.
The Chiltern School is a Good school and Aspires to become an Outstanding Areas Special School.
The successful candidate will have;
Proven strategic leadership skills
A record of inspiring others to achieve the highest level of educational practice
The ability to innovate, embrace and manage change
Excellent interpersonal skills

The Chiltern School is a split site school for pupils and students aged 3 to 19 years. We currently have 202 learners who are supported by our highly skilled and committed team of 80 staff. Our learners have a range of complex learning needs and disabilities; PMLD, ASD, SLD, and MLD and additional needs.
We are a recognised authority on working with children and young people with Autism and the Autism spectrum.
In addition to the school you will lead services commissioned by the Local Authority to provide support services to families and schools across Central Bedfordshire.
These services include:
Outreach support to local mainstream schools
ASD advisory teacher support across the area
The Early Years Support Service working with children, their and Early Years Settings to provide early intervention and assessment of learning needs.
