Robert Rice Contractors is a small busy firm, providing predominantly carpentry work for residential and commercial contracts including refurbishing kitchens, bathrooms, windows, roofs as well as new construction projects. We work with the MOD, local councils and schools in the Public Sector. In the private sector we work alongside small to medium building companies and mechanical electrical engineers for mainly domestic residential work.

The business has 5 employees and manage anywhere between 10 and 50 sub contractors at any one time.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Office Manager to work alongside the contracts manager to provide effective and efficient service to the office by managing all aspects of the office administration. The main duties are to:

 

 

  • Answer day to day enquiries about the business via telephone and email in a professional and timely manner.
  • Manage incoming post
  • Assist the directors, contracts manage and other employees to do their roles efficiently
  • Process invoices and payments including wages via computerised systems
  • Order goods and services as instructed
  • Accurately track payment schedules
  • Administrate security clearance checks and maintain records for sub contractors.

It is essential that the successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience as an Office Manager or Administrator
  • Able to work on their own initiative
  • Computer literate with sound knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Polite, confident and professional
  • Able to work well in a small team

In addition, it would be an advantage to have experience of Sage and a background knowledge of the construction sector.

This is a full-time position; however, flexible working or job share would be considered.
