We have TWO positions for a Assistant Cook based in Oswestry, Shropshire offering a salary of GBP14,625.00 FTE.

We currently have two exciting opportunities for an Assistant Cook to work in our Hospitality and Catering outlets.

You will work as part of a team in the Garden Cafe or the Orangery Restaurant, preparing, cooking and serving meals, preparing functions and serving customers.

The role of Assistant Cook:


Contribute towards menu planning and development
Preparation and cooking of meals
Cleaning of equipment
General kitchen duties
Active involvement in team and contribution to development of department
Supporting students / trainees on work experience placements as required
Cover for other department staff during periods of annual leave and sickness
Work in all areas of the Eatery or Orangery as required
Waiting on duties
Have knowledge of and follow hygiene and food safety rules within a busy food environment



The ideal Assistant Cook:
NVQ level 2 or equivalent in food preparation and cooking or working towards
Basic food hygiene certificate or equivalent
Experience in food service as well as a kitchen environment
Enthusiasm and ability to work as part of a term or alone
