JOB TITLE: Health , Safety and Environmental Manager


SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive, negotiable depending on experience


WORKING HOURS: Full Time


THE COMPANY: We are advertising on behalf of one of Europe's largest independent engine re manufacturers, supplying OE manufacturers such as Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo, Aston Martin, JCB and Chrysler. They now have a vacancy available for a Health , Safety and Environmental Manager to join them.



THE ROLE: Based at our clients Grantham site the Health , Safety and Environmental Manager will be be responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety and Environmental Management. You will act as the first point of contact for statutory bodies and enforcement agencies.



You will also manage the company ISO accreditation's. Experience of 9001 and 14001, however the company is wishing to gain 18001 so prior experience of implementation would be an advantage.


Key Responsibilities of the Health , Safety and Environmental Manager:


  • Compliance to all relevant legislation and regulations

  • Deliver appropriate SHE Training

  • Provide first point of contact for Statutory Bodies and
Enforcement Agencies
  • Maintain management information systems on SHE processes

  • Be responsible for ensuring all risk assessments are in compliance, in date and regularly reviewed

  • Ensure compliance with COSHH throughout the company

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the role of Health , Safety and Environmental Manager will hold a NEBOSH general certificate or higher. You will be be forward thinking and have experience working in the engineering manufacturing industry.



You will also have the ability to motivate and inspire others, leading by example at all times with the ability to adapt to changes in health and safety and understand company needs and efficiently deliver.



Key experience essential for the role:
  • NEBOSH Diploma, or working towards
  • Previous experience in engineering / manufacturing
  • Previous experience as a Health and Safety manager
  • Lead or Internal Auditing experience for 9001/14001/
  • ISO 18001 experience highly desirable
  • Live within a commutable distance of Grantham
