SDLC Engineering/Development Lead - Java Based Technologies.

Above all, they are looking for someone who can develop, coach and inspire staff across the whole software engineering function to achieve outstanding performance across the function. Therefore this is a truly challenging and CV-enhancing role!

This is initially a 6 month contract which may be extended for the right candidate. Our client is looking for someone who can come on board and play a lead role in the coordination and guidance within their Software Engineering competency ensuring change projects and programmes are supported to deliver to the required level of quality. YOU MUST HAVE a strong background as a Java technologies Development Manager (previous hands-on development experience as a Java developer would be very beneficial) and understand Java-based technologies from an overview perspective well.

You will be tasked with leading a competency which works across a wide range of technologies including Java, HTML, JavaScript, Oracle and Postgres covering platforms such as IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. You will also be required to lead the software engineering competency by defining principles, strategies and roadmaps for practices processes and tools and also drive continuous improvement of software development, testing, build and release activities through planning the competency's skills development.

To be considered for this role you will ideally be a current or ex Development Manager who can demonstrate a track record of influencing and negotiating with various levels of people such as developers, testers, architects, build/release management resources and senior management.
