JOB TITLE: Support Worker/Care Assistant (Community)


SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP7.20 per hour plus enhancements for evenings & weekends, + mileage/public transport costs & travel time top ups (GBP6.95 under 25 years old plus above enhancements)

Pay rate under consultation with proposed basic rate of GBP8.25 per hour w/e 1 st April 2017.

WORKING HOURS: Full time/Part time/ flexible hours available, on rota-Perm contracts

THE ROLE: Support Worker, Sheffield, South Yorkshire

In the role of support worker you will be involved in providing personal care and support to service users, some with complex care needs, which promotes and enables independence.

You will support people with all aspects of daily living, ensuring that their independence is preserved and developed.

You do not need previous experience to be a part of our team. Full training is provided.

Key Responsibilities to include:- Support Worker, Sheffield, south Yorshire
  • Personal care (requirements differ)
  • Medication administration and management
  • Supporting during medical appointments
  • Finances: budgeting, utility bills and benefits
  • Helping to understand written official communications and action them
  • Meal planning, preparation and cooking, cleaning and going shopping
  • Updating and maintaining relevant records
  • Attending appointments and social activities


Key Experience preferred for the role:- Support Worker, Support Worker, Sheffield
  • Experience of providing personal care(paid or unpaid) would be desirable, but not essential
  • To have NVQ 2 in Care/ Diploma in social care or willingness to work towards this.
  • Good basic literacy and numeracy
  • To be willing to undertake required training (including updates), sometimes off site and outside normal working hours.
  • An engaging manner with ability to build rapport with people.
  • Passion, enthusiasm and a real commitment to make a difference to people lives
  • A reliable, flexible approach to work
