Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for a Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Bonnyrigg, working 48hrs per week, Monday to Saturday.

Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for a Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Bonnyrigg, working 48hrs per week, Monday to Saturday.
Logistics Coordinator responsibilities:
In this position, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling and route transport movements for the Bonnyrigg logistics unit whilst ensuring compliance with the law and Viridor processes and procedures and the efficiency of the fleet. Responsibilities will also include:
- Monitoring the operational and budgetary performance of the profit centre and reporting variances, recommending corrective actions as required.
- Liaising closely with the Logistics Unit Manager and producing financial and other information for the production of monthly profit and loss accounts and the accurate forecasting.
- Adhering to Viridor’s financial procedures, particularly when setting up customer’s accounts, banking cash, completing ticket entry and checking authorising for invoicing.
- Liaising with the Sales and Account Development teams to provide information and costing for new and existing work.
- The compilation of justifications for capital expenditure and maintaining the profit centres asset register.
- Ensuring the customer experience is delivered to the highest, consistent standard by every employee.
- Maintaining the fleet and container stock to company and legislative standards ensuring high standards of housekeeping.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping for the fleet parking and container storage areas.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are in line with company requirements ensuring all company procedures are adhered to.
- Reporting all incidents, accidents and complaints by the approved method taking action to prevent reoccurrence.
- Maximising, together with the transport team, the efficiency of the fleet’s operation and the department.
- Producing Key Performance Indicators to continually monitor and review the fleet’s operation, seeking to improve levels of performance.
- Supervising and developing your team to maximise their potential to themselves and the business.
- Carrying out annual and timely Performance Annual Reviews (PARs) and annual training reviews as required.
- Liaising with regulatory authorities and customers as required.
- Liaising with other Viridor sites and departments as required to facilitate an efficient operation.
- Maintaining all fleet and tachograph records, reports and check sheets in a complete and recoverable manner to ensure BMS and legislative compliance at all times.
- Ensuring sufficient labour and resources are available to complete the workload, highlighting any issues in advance.
- Ensuring drivers are debriefed at the end of each day and any uncompleted work is carried forward, also other information arising from the debriefing is acted upon.
- An understanding of fleet operating systems
- Full knowledge of Road Transport and Environmental legislation
- Ability to route vehicles effectively taking into account profit and productivity
- Previous experience of customer experience management and strategy
- Previous experience controlling fleet activities.
- Hold a full CPC in road transport, or to be committed to attaining one within a short timescale
