Our client, a heavy industry manufacturing business, seek to appoint a Proposals Engineer. With a recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification and experience of the steel industry, either for a steel manufacturing business or affiliated company in the steel supply chain, the appointed Proposals Engineer will have experience of proposals, costings, bids and quotations and a genuine commitment to customer service. You'll be joining a well respected business with excellent facilities and an enviable client bank of clue chip customers.
Proposals Engineer - Role and Responsibilities - Sales Engineer / Project Manager
* Prepare Customer Proposals and Quotations appropriate to specific customer requirements. Complete tenders as appropriate
* Search out new customers, identify current and/or future needs, and manage sales cycle to order
* Manage existing accounts to ensure existing commitments are met in full and other business opportunities are identified
* Negotiate with Customers to identify most beneficial contract structure in order to win business and achieve financial targets
* Help develop sales forecasts for current year and specified business planning cycle within overall business strategy
Proposals Engineer - Skills and Abilities - Sales Engineer / Project Manager
* A recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification
* Experience of the steel industry in a projects or sales role
* Thorough understanding of sales cycle and/or tendering process
* Have an understanding of reconditioning processes within steel, quarrying and other manufacturing environments
