Our client are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Fitter to join an established team of maintenance engineers, ensuring machinery and plant availability and reliability. The successful candidate will also assist in the reduction of plant downtime, continuous improvement initiatives, health & safety and project work.
This opportunity is based on a continental shift (6.00pm to 6.00am) - 4 Days On / 4 Days Off
Key Responsibilities:
Planned and reactive maintenance on a range of heavy machinery and ancilliary equipment in a process based manufacturing environment. Ensure continuous production and liaise with internal departments as necessary and appropriate.
Candidates will need to demonstrate skills and experience in the following areas:
* Competent in carrying out mechanical maintenance on heavy machinery
* Time served or hold equivalent engineering qualification (ONC, HNC etc)
* Several years maintenance experience gained within a continuous production environment
* Working knowledge of Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems
* Experience with drives, gears, couplings and electric motors
* Machine shop skills, including turning, milling and grinding (essential)
* Pump valve and seal maintenance & repair
* Pipework fitting for steam, water and gas
* Welding and fabricating
* Current FLT Licence
