My Buckinghamshire based client has been successfully trading since the 1970's and is a medium sized cleaning company trading in London and the northern and western Home Counties, from Oxfordshire in the north to the M4 corridor in the south. They provide daily cleaning, window cleaning and a broad range of specialist cleaning services employing circa 350 people.

I am currently looking for an Area Manager/Supervisor who ideally resides in the Hemel Hempstead/Tring area but candidates who live closer to Aylesbury or who live in Watford are in other suitable areas. The post holder will ensure that contractual obligations to Clients are met through efficient deployment, management of operational resources and regular site audits. The post is part time. The working hours are Monday-Friday 5.30-8.30 PM with circa 10 hours made up during the rest of the week undertaking audits, client liaison, administration etc for which overtime is paid. The portfolio consists of circa 15 office cleaning sites.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

To liaise with the Contracts Manager to ensure that ads placed & interviews organised to maintain required staffing levels.
To carry out staff induction and training in accordance with company procedures.
To manage and support the on-site staff.
You will assist in managing the operational elements to your designated area. This includes keeping record of any planned or unplanned absences and to arrange/provide sufficient cover in the event of absenteeism. (Where Applicable)
To hold a company phone and respond to all requests in a timely manner.
To monitor stocks of cleaning equipment and materials in order that orders can be placed on a timely basis.
To complete timesheets and ensure they are handed to payroll dept without errors and in good time for payment to be processed.
Be aware of the condition of the equipment to ensure that all equipment is in safe working order, checked regularly and serviced.
To ensure that all disciplinary, grievance and welfare issues are dealt with in a consistent manner, in accordance with the Company's HR policies and procedures.
To ensure that good communication links are maintained between yourself, the Contracts Manager and the Operations Manager.
To ensure the retention of existing Clients by constant monitoring of cleaning standards both informally and formally (completing site audit forms) and to identify any concerns with the relevant staff member.
Report any customer complaints or compliments and take some remedial action if at all possible.
Report immediately any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage or other irregularities to the Contracts Manager.
To ensure all Health and Safety requirements are being met with all On-Site employees.
To monitor, control and report on any Health and Safety requirements as per legislation and Company guidelines.
To be knowledgeable of Company policies and procedures and ensure they are followed at all times.
Key Result Indicators

All cleaning and hygiene standards to meet service specification
Deliver a consistent level of service, within the Company's standards, to the contract specification and agreed performance levels.
Comply with Company and statutory regulations relating to safe systems of work, H&S, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH.
For this role individuals should have experience of supervision (not neccessarily in the cleaning industry), an excellent knowledge of the cleaning sector, a sound client awareness and commercial judgement, be flexible in their approach to work, have excellent decision making and interpersonal skills, be able to motivate others and be an effective leader, possess excellent time management and administrative skills, be committed to equal opportunities and possess a positive and sensitive approach to the needs of others. Possess a full UK driving license and their own vehicle.

GBP9.10 per hour, phone or allowance, mileage paid (use own vehicle).
