Canteen Assistant

The Position
Applications are invited for a Canteen Assistant based at their Nottingham Site. This is a permanent part-time position working Monday to Friday 8.00am - 2.00pm.

As a Canteen Assistant, your duties and responsibilities will vary on the Company's requirements but will include:

- Planning and preparation of quality hot and cold meals for staff and Site visitors over both the breakfast and lunchtime periods.
- Ensure excellent food hygiene practice is observed in the entire food chain, including HACCP requirements records.
- Providing an excellent level of service to all staff and visitors, with a friendly, customer-focused approach.
- Cash handling and operation of till.
- Assisting with catering deliveries and related items.
- Maintaining an excellent level of cleanliness in relation of food preparation areas, work services, kitchen utensils, floors and walls.
- Ensure waste is minimised by using portion control wherever feasible.
- Ensure H&S policy and procedure is adhered to at all times.

The Person

- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Catering/Cookery.
- Food Safety and Hygiene qualification.
- Health and Safety qualification.
- Educated to GSCE Grade C or above in Mathematics and English (or equivalent).
- Understanding of kitchen operation and portion control.
- Experiencing of catering for populations of up to 30 people.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Good communication skills.
