We are currently working on behalf of our client to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer to operate from their central Norfolk office. The business themselves have a relatively large drawing office, with focus on all areas of development and production across the Mechanical and Electrical front. Going from strength to strength, the business are looking for a well skilled Mechanically focussed Design Engineer to work alongside a Principle and report into the Engineering Manager.
Working as part of the designated Research and Design team, you will complete the following:
- Work on brand new projects for product initiation
- Plan concepts and design stages
- Provide risk assessments
- Generate detailed drawings for New Product Introduction
- Ensure drawings are kept to agreed standards and specifications
- Research all design options
- Work closely with the technicians on production
- Perform complex analyses of components performance
- Drawings to be completed in 3D
The role itself is going to be extremely fluid and will often depend on the requirement of the project, so successful candidates will be expected to show a mind set to match this environment. You will ideally have a Mechanically based degree education and will show theoretical and practical knowledge of Mechanical principles. The business use Solidworks as their design package, so prior working exposure to this is ideal.
