I am currently looking for an experienced and accomplished Senior Project Engineer to develop and introduce new products into the company's portfolio, identifying and developing an approved supply chain for products in our portfolio and ensuring support to the manufacturing area for the introduction of products

Reporting to the VP of Product Engineering, you will be assigned to identify, support and develop an approved supply chain for our products, ensuring support to the manufacturing area for the introduction of new products whilst supporting the external Sales team on visits as and when required

Your role will be to evaluate, improve, create and engineer new products, on time, within budget and to an agreed level of quality. These products will include mechanical, electrical and electronic designs.

You will achieve this by working with customer and supplier teams to complete vehicle project activities whilst providing engineering and technical support as it implements concept designs into component products including the preparation of timing plans

Specific Project Engineering Duties:

- Working with CAD programmes to receive, read, prepare and transmit data files checking accuracy and validity of data.
- Design, own and deliver concepts as required into production
- Create drawings and manage Engineering Changes
- Complete the required 'Bill of Materials' for loading onto computer network
- To support the enquiry and estimating process at the quotation stage advising on technical implications prior to the product being quoted
- Attend and take responsibility for DFMEA aspects within vehicle programme
- Liaise with the customer, suppliers and relevant team members at all times during enquiry, new product introduction and initial manufacture phases
- To assist in assessing feasibility on new business opportunities
- Engineer improvements into the process on new parts by using advanced planning techniques, with a view to target a "right first time" introduction of product into manufacturing feasibility studies etc.
- To identify any external processes that maybe required
- To identify new external material, component or process suppliers and work with them to obtain, samples etc.
- To complete initial sample trials, tool try outs and fit & function meeting on new products
- Responsibility for creating and updating Failure Mode Effect Analysis documentation
- Ensure provision of development and pre-production prototypes
- Design and have manufactured production process or 'Go / No-Go' jigs and fixtures as required
- Liaise with the Automotive team and where appropriate customer and suppliers during product development and initial manufacture in line with agreed time lines
- To ensure conformance of product to test criteria through development and build phases
- To assist in the preparation and liaison of graphics
- To support Key Account Managers by providing technical support on visits etc

With a strong Mechanical Engineering background, you will have technical working experience gained within the automotive supply chain arena, ideally from an automotive component sector supplying into OEM & tier companies

As this is a 'hands on' role where you will be responsible for a number of projects, completing Design, CAD, Project Management, you will ideally have knowledge of the following environments: -

- Injection moulding
- Stamping
- Chemical finishing
- Electrical / Electronic environment

It is paramount you have experience of working with Catia V5
