Inventory Planner / Inventory Controller
Inventory Planner is needed for our client based in Manchester, a global leader in the creative promotional merchandise arena and one of the largest promotional product suppliers in the world. Their reputation for quality, service and customer satisfaction is second to none, and their impressive client list include Michelin, Google, ABB, Exxon Mobil, Sky, Intel and RBS to name a few. They employ over 330 people globally and have annual sales in excess of £80 million.
This role is to join a team of Inventory Planners to manage fast moving stock ranges for high profile brands.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Ensuring optimum stock levels, placing purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery of stock
- Proactively analysing stock levels to ensure adequate stock is held thus improving service levels to the customer
- Closely monitoring product movement so that slower products are kept in lower quantities
- Liaising with account managers, goods in and suppliers negotiating prices and lead times, and also handing any stock-related queries
Ideal candidates will be customer focussed with good interpersonal, problem solving and administration skills, as well as having a willingness to learn. You will already have experience in a fast moving commercial environment. IT skills will be desirable, particularly focusing on Microsoft Excel.
Skills / Experience:
- Strong organisation and good time management
- Excellent communication skills
- Numerical skills with a keen eye for detail
- IT Literate including Microsoft Excel skills
- High level of resilience and confidence and a strong determination to succeed
- Experience of interfacing with suppliers and negotiating prices in a similar role (desirable)
