My Client, Preformed Line Products (GB) Ltd was established in 1957 in Andover, Hampshire and is a wholly owned subsidiary of a NASDAQ listed company.

PLP manufacture a range of products in an ISO 9001 environment for the Overhead Electrical Power Transmission and Distribution and Telecommunications industries. Markets include the UK, Ireland, Western and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

They are looking for someone who is highly numerate, analytical and with experience of working in a busy accounts department to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is looking to work for a company who invest in their staff and offer excellent benefits.

The Role:

Prime responsibilities include:

- Generate product standard costs and administer the Company's costing system.
- Reporting of gross margins, material, labour and overhead costs.
- Prepare monthly manufacturing reports and cost analysis.
- To value inventory at year end including ageing and net realisable value checks.
- To determine that inventory is of current use to the business or if obsolescence allowances are required.
- Liaise with Engineering to produce costs for new products.
- Support Purchasing & Sales functions with bids & tenders.
- Work with CI manage & participate in improvement projects.
- Provide support to the Financial Accountant and Financial Manager for all month end accounting processes.
- To liaise with internal & external auditors as required on costing & inventory matters.
- Other administration & support task as required.

The successful candidate will be either AAT qualified or CIMA/ACCA which is highly desirable. Previous accounts and/or product costing experience is essential, ideally in a similar manufacturing environment. You must show you have the ability to understand engineering concepts.

You will also have the proven ability to follow procedures in an accurate and timely manner and have an appreciation of the importance of SOX legislation (Sarbanes-Oxley Act). You will also be highly numerate, IT literate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

You will be able to work as part of a team and engage with shop floor personnel to determine and analyse actual costs and areas of potential cost reduction. Actively participating in CI events will be mandatory.
