Creative Support is a non-profit organisation which provides high quality person centred social care services for people with learning disabilities, mental health and other needs.
We have exciting opportunities available for sessional activity workers at our Breakthrough Service based at our Head Office in city centre Manchester. The Breakthrough Service provides a variety of opportunities for adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities and physical disabilities to develop greater confidence learn new skills and develop positive social networks and greater independence. This is facilitated through group work in areas such as music, drama, photography, art and crafts and cookery to name a few. There is also the opportunity to work on a one to one basis developing skills such as numeracy, IT and literacy skills. There is a vibrant and enthusiastic culture at the service which is promoted by the manager and staff team. The service works inclusively with the members to shape the services provided. Members particularly enjoy the trips, themed events and performances that the Breakthrough Service offers.
Our Cyber caf?? is the heart of the service and prides itself on providing wholesome, home cooked food at discounted prices for our members.
We are recruiting for a Sessional Hairdresser to provide services to people with a range of support needs. We are looking for someone who is calm, patient and understanding.
You will have a minimum of 2 years' experience and ideally have experience of working with adults mental health needs and/or learning disabilities either on a paid or voluntary basis.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful and energetic individual who is well motivated, hardworking and keen to join our friendly team. You will support the existing Breakthrough team of workers in providing a welcoming, inclusive, supportive service to our members. You will demonstrate the values that are essential for a role of this nature such as warmth, compassion and unconditional positive regard along with the ability to work flexibly to ensure the service is maximised for the members.
You will receive a full local and corporate induction. You will have access to on-going training and personal development through regular supervisions and appraisals. You will be required to work in a flexible manner which may include evenings and weekends. We offer good conditions of service and a supportive, hands-on management culture.
