LOGISTICS MANAGER

A vacancy now exists for a Logistics Manager for a global diversified company within one of the world's largest automotive suppliers.
The main responsibility of the Logistics Manager is to lead the Logistics / Materials / Supply Chain Team to exceed expectations of both their internal and external customers. As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you will be an integral team player who will be crucial to the continuous success of the business operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide inspired leadership and safe day to day management to the Materials team in line with the requirements of the business
- Effectively manage and optimise the supply chain, ensuring uninterrupted component delivery through the provision of cost-effective and high quality service levels
- Establish and maintain effective systems and processes
- Ensuring the Materials Team adhere to policy and procedures and complete daily tasks in a timely, professional manner
- Foster and encourage a continuous improvement culture
- Coordinate, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the communication process within the Materials Team and make improvements where necessary
- To develop excellent supplier and customer relationships both internally and externally
- To review schedules and broadcasts highlighting any constraints, ensuring that supplier and production capacities are continuously monitored
The Candidate:
- Ideally of graduate calibre preferably educated to degree level or similar qualification
- Significant experience ideally within an automotive manufacturing or assembly environment, with experience of JIT within the logistics / supply chain / materials function
- Experience of people management, development and leadership
- Good interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and achieve business objectives
- Clear, concise and appropriate communication style both written and verbal
- Ability to recognise and respond to customer expectations with a drive for results
- Data driven, analytical and methodical demonstrating innovation in decision making and problem solving
- Sufficient experience in continuous improvement activities
- Highly self-motivated, the ideal candidate will require the minimum of supervision and be able to work on their own initiative
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Highly proficient in the use of SAP
- Good working knowledge of MRP systems
