The Business
Willis Towers Watson's investment consulting business aims to change investment for the better for the benefit of its clients. The Role
The primary responsibility of this role will be advising the trustees of Defined Contribution pension plans on investment issues. The consultant will take responsibility for a number of client relationships, and support senior consultants on some of our larger clients. The services provided to clients include advice on investment strategy, fund selection, and investment governance. The consultant will have a key role in the day to day management of client relationships and be supported by other consultants and investment analysts as appropriate.
The consultant may also be involved with research groups and technical working parties within the firm and contributing to development of the DC Investment Consulting proposition.
Performance Objectives:
Clients
- Build client relationships with a portfolio of clients; identifying services that may be valued by them, and proactively promoting these services to the client
- Work with broader WTW client teams to provide the investment input and promote our services
- Show significant ownership and timely delivery of investment advice and services to clients
- Assist Senior Investment Consultants in delivering services to our larger clients
- Undertake effective management of projects, keeping our clients informed of progress
- Deliver high quality project work designed to meet or exceed client expectations
- Build and maintain a reputation within the business for understanding client needs and delivering effective solutions
- Ensure efficient delivery of services through appropriate delegation or use of specialists, utilising existing intellectual capital

- Provide "best in class" service to clients and adhere to Willis Towers Watson "Work Excellence" principles and procedures
People
- Build strong relationships internally within the DC Investment team, across cross-functional teams within Willis Towers Watson, and externally with a number of contacts at key clients.
- Demonstrate ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Contribute to the development of more junior staff
The Requirements
- Significant experience of advising DC pension scheme trustees
- Strong knowledge of institutional investment and DC investment in particular
- Sound technical investment knowledge, covering a range of asset classes
