Our vision is to make Lloyds Banking Group the best bank for customers. As the UK's largest retail and commercial bank, we have a footprint that touches nearly every community and household in the UK. That gives us a big responsibility to support the UK economy, and to put customers at the heart of everything we do. To achieve this, we also need to be the best bank for our colleagues and our communities - and we have a clear strategy in place to make this a reality. We are building on our many strengths: iconic brands, strong heritages and great people. To unlock the great potential in our business, we are becoming more efficient, more transparent, and more responsive to customers. Already the UK's largest community investor, we are giving even more back. Above all, we are putting customers first.

Be a part of something that matters. With over 30 million customers served by the Group, there's plenty of scope to develop your career and make a contribution that makes a worthwhile difference.

You'll be joining Group Tax, who manage a wide range of tax payment, deduction and reporting obligations both for the Group's own account and also for its customers and colleagues. These obligations involve ensuring that the Group is in full compliance with all of it's statutory obligations, the Banking Code of Practice and that our tax costs are managed within the Group's risk appetite.

Within the VAT and Operational Taxes team, you'll be making a difference by supporting the Senior Employee Taxes Manager in providing a proactive Employee and Expatriate Taxes risk, assurance and advisory service. This professional support will involve:

* helping to ensure that the business is aware of, and understands the significance of it's tax legislation obligations
* responding to HMRC enquiries, ensuring that the risk of penalties is mitigated
* assisting HR and Finance functions with employment and expatriate tax queries
* preparing PAYE Settlement Agreement calculations
* assisting in the production of tax training material for both the team and wider Group audiences
* keeping abreast of developments in tax and in particular those relevant to your own specialist area, to ensure that changing compliance obligations are met and communicated.

Whilst you may have worked in Financial Services before, it is certainly not a requirement. What we're looking for is the specialist knowledge of Employee and/or Expatriate Tax principles that you'll have gained in either a large organisation, consultancy firm or relevant civil service department.

And whilst you may have already completed your tax exams, this again is not essential. In fact, if you have the skills we're looking for and are yet to start your professional qualifications, we can support you in studying for them. What you will need to demonstrate is a good understanding of -tax principles, strong analytical skills and excellent PC skills, including a good working knowledge of Excel.
We are also looking for the interpersonal and communication skills needed to build and maintain effective working relationships with senior managers, your internal customers and HM Revenue and Customs.

In return, you can take the next step in your career in an exciting and challenging environment, were the breadth of opportunities open to you reflects the size and scale of our organisation.

We're passionate about diversity in the workplace and support agile working. Whilst the majority of the time you'll need to be in our Halifax office, we're open to discussing a variety of working styles and options to meet your needs - including occasional home working and other flexible options. And as making you feel valued is important, we'll offer a highly competitive salary and rewards package.

So if this sounds like your ideal next role and you have the skills and background we're looking for, we'd like to hear from you.
