We operate an in house e-Fulfilment process, picking, packing and dispatching customer orders via a multi carrier delivery network. The e-Fulfilment operation is supplied by and is part of our National Retail Distribution Centre in Coventry. We are now looking to recruit an Operations Manager for the fulfilment centre. The role, which has excellent long term career prospects, requires a manager of exceptional ability who is flexible and committed.

Operations Manager e-Fulfilment Role:

Working with a strong and committed permanent team, it will be your responsibility to keep all processes running like clockwork in a highly seasonal environment. You will need to focus on achieving the highest standards of productivity and efficiency while maintaining the accuracy of both FC inventory and customer orders. The e-Fulfilment Centre Operations Manager will work closely with the e-Commerce, Supply Chain and Retail DC teams as well as the FC QA team who cover cycle counting, contact centre and carrier liaison, systems support, customer returns etc.

The main Operations Manager e-Fulfilment responsibilities of the role will be:

• To plan and manage the running of a dynamic operation which is based on an extended single shift for 40 weeks, building to a 24/7 operation from October to Christmas.
• To ensure accurate receipt of stock to reserve locations and the continual replenishment of pick faces.
• To ensure all orders are dispatched within SLA, ensuring the best experience for our customers.
• To ensure confident shift management is provided at all times, with good information flow and shift handovers.
• To engage, empower and develop all team members and to build on our experienced and committed permanent team, using both short term contract and agency resources.
• To work closely with the operations management team in the Retail DC, ensuring that both team members and supervisors are cross trained and flexible.
• To control local health & safety, loss prevention and staff disciplinary matters.
• Control the flow of all consumables NB packaging and printing supplies.
• Control technical equipment such as wrist mounted scanners and liaise with IT regarding systems and hardware support.
• To continually assess processes, ensuring maximum productivity, efficiency and accuracy.

The ideal Operations Manager e-Fulfilment

You will have previous managerial experience of leading and motivating large teams of people. You will have excellent organisational and operating skills as the team will flex, building from twenty-five to circa three hundred in peak, utilising short term contract and agency staff, including part-time and weekend only workers. Excellent shift planning and T&A management is therefore vital. You will demonstrate the ability and desire to become a key part of our overall succession plan in this high profile role which has excellent potential for progression. You will bring with you an engaging personality and help the team to continue developing a "great place to work" environment. The FC operates on Manhattan Associates platform, you will need to be able to become fluent in its operation, ensuring that there is a common MO across all shifts and that the seasonal team are utilised to the full in order to achieve our service level and productivity goals.
