LOCATION: Lurgan (near Craigavon), County Armagh
JOB TITLE: Machine Operatives
SALARY & BENEFITS: Competitive salary and remuneration package
WORKING HOURS: Full Time - Continental Shifts consisting of 2 weeks of Days / 2 weeks of nights
THE ROLE: Our client is looking to employ a number of extrusion line operatives to set up, run, quality check and pack Plastic Piping Systems. Our client would prefer experienced polymer extrusion line operatives from a telecoms duct/pipe background but full training will be given to suitable applicants from a similar background or have a level of mechanical/engineering understanding or qualifications. This role consists of a 24/7 continental shift pattern alternating between 2 weeks of days and 2 weeks of nights. For the right candidate excellent salary and remuneration package will be offered.
Key Responsibilities for the Machine Operatives role in Lurgan (near Craigavon), County Armagh include:
- Set-up and changeover of lines within set minimum targets
- Responsible for machine repairs required, or allocated to ensure continuity of production whilst minimizing scrap and downtime in order to meet targets
- Machine start ups when required and ensure they are up and running to within specification as soon as possible and to maximum efficiency
- Ensure equipment and tooling used corresponds with the details on process manuals
- Ensure all pre-run check lists are complete and signed off
- Ensuring the correct blend of materials is available at each machine and correct formulas are used
- Control and the acceptance of responsibility for quality, scrap levels and defects
- Ensure all scrap and defects are rerecorded accurately
- Ensure that the company policy on health, safety and environment is followed, and that appropriate health and safety rules regulations and PPE are adhered to
- Ensure the housekeeping standards of the area and especially during and after change over's is adhered to
THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Machine Operatives role will ideally be someone from a polymer extrusion production line background or from a telecoms duct/pipe background, however this is not essential. It is however essential you have some experience operating production machines and are someone capable of transferring these skills. The ability to work accurately to deadlines is essential and it is vital you are able to work the shift pattern consisting of 2 weeks of days and 2 weeks of nights. Although not essential, holding a forklift licence would be desirable.
Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Machine Operatives role in Lurgan (near Craigavon), County Armagh, :-
- Must have experience working as a Machine Operator in some capacity
- Ability to work accurately to deadlines is essential
- Must be able to commute to Lurgan
- It is essential candidates are able to commit to working continental shift patterns of 2 weeks days & 2 weeks nights.
