This is an opportunity to join a small technology company based in Manchester city centre, engaged in the design, manufacture and supply of telematics / IoT products for vehicle tracking and similar applications. They have been trading for 7 years, have 4 products in volume production, and more in the pipeline. They now seek to expand their design team to support the development of further new products. This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing and exciting young company at ground level. Talented and enthusiastic individuals will have a great opportunity to build the role and their career with no bounds.They are current using STM32 microcontrollers, based on Cortex M3 architecture from ARM Technologies. Embedded firmware development is done using CrossWorks for ARM (from Rowley Associates) in ANSI C language. Technologies employed in their products encompass a variety of exciting applications such as GPS/GNSS, GPRS/3G/4G, CANBus, Bluetooth, MEMS Accelerometers, RFID/NFC, Solar Power and power-management using lithium polymer batteries.
They are seeking an individual with exceptional talent and experience in the field of embedded C software (firmware) development to lead their small development team. This is a position for someone of high calibre and ambitions to match. The successful candidate will be offered a position on the board of directors and 5% equity in the company, following their first year in the role.
To be considered for this position, you must hold a degree (or post grad qualification) in a related subject and at least 5 years of commercial embedded software experience.
This role will be based at their Manchester office. Working environment is casual and hours are flexible. They offer 25 days annual leave and a company pension scheme. Salary and benefits are negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
