Technical Support Engineer
- GBP20,000 - GBP26,000
- 25 days leave + 8 Bank Holidays
- 39-hour week - 8:00am-4:30pm Mon-Thurs and 3:30pm finish on Fridays
- 3% matched pension
Location: Commutable from Northamptonshire, Market Harborough, Oakham, Corby, Stamford, Kettering
This multi-million-pound business in experiencing astronomical growth and they have already outstripped their 2016 budget by +GBP4 million, all of which has come from organic sales.
Overall this business has organically grown by a staggering GBP9 million over the past 7 years, which is testament to their product portfolio and outstanding relationships with blue chip clients around the world.
The business designs, manufactures, installs and commissions large metal fabricated mechanical systems and provide turnkey solutions, all designed and manufactured in-house by a dedicated team of specialist Engineers.
As a result of recent growth, my client is looking to recruit a Technical Support Engineer to assist all Engineering Teams and support the company in their continued growth.
Technical Support Engineer:
- Review sales order and produce Bill of Materials (BOM) which will include price, equipment, dimensions, labour supply, timescales and part numbers.
- Review engineering change orders and regularly maintain and update the engineering Bill of Materials.
- Issue works orders to the production department.
- Coordinate with purchasing about the procurement of special materials and when stock needs to be ordered.
- Provide commercial support when new quotes are produced.
- Liaising with other departments including Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Production and Good's In.
- Currently the business uses Opera (ERP System). They have recently invested 500k into a new ERP system called Epicor which will go live this year. You will play an integral part in the implementation of this system into the business.
- Supporting with stock checks and stock management.
Experience and background:
- Must have some previous experience creating a Bill of Materials; this could be as a BOM Engineer, Project Engineer, Technical Engineer, Applications Engineer or similar.
- Must be able to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is key within this role.
- Knowledge of ERP systems is desirable.
- Based or commutable to Northamptonshire, Corby, Oakham and Market Harborough.
