Operations Administrator
Langdon Transport is a family run business which has been established for over 30 years. We run numerous departments within the company including General Haulage, Warehousing, Pallet deliveries, Walking floor & also offer a number of specialised vehicles. Langdon Transport is based on the Lee Mill Industrial Estate in Ivybridge but we do have numerous other depots in which we operate from.
Due to the fact the business is continuing to grow we now have a full-time position available within our busy operations department. The job requires you to work alongside the traffic team within the pallet department and assist with the following: inputting jobs, dealing with customers and drivers, allocating collections to drivers, making sure all vehicles are unloaded and freight labelled up correctly at the end of the day to put onto the night trunk vehicles, ensuring all night trunk vehicles are loaded correctly and ready for our night drivers to start their shift. The job will require the candidate to work 12-8 Monday to Friday, you will have an hour break during your shift and some Saturday work may be necessary but this will be agreed beforehand. Good rates of pay offered along with a pension scheme and private health care.
Candidates must have previous office experience. A good telephone manner is essential as you will be dealing with customers on a regular basis. Candidate must be able to work as part of a team but also as an individual. Candidate must be computer literate. Experience on Manpack would be preferred but not essential. Forklift licence also a bonus but again not essential, training will be given if necessary.
