I am recruiting for a Production Planner to work for a manufacturing company based in Wellingborough. You will report in to the Operations Manager and be responsible for managing all stock inventory related activities and warehouse control.
* Execute stock control measures to ensure the company minimises stock holding, and ensuring MRP efficiencies are realised.
* The role carries responsibility for production planning, stock control, planned purchasing, goods inwards and dispatch, warehouse operations to ensure necessary functions are carried out correctly and supervision of the warehousing operatives.
Role
* Management of the 4-weekly production plan
* Management of the lower level production plans for individual production areas within the factory
* Ensure integrity and accuracy of the MRP management system
* Report to the Operations Manager weekly on stock level trends, giving planned responses to increased or reduced business levels
* Forward plan component and packaging requirements for weekly and monthly production plans.
* Control forward ordering patterns on key supplier and components.
* Liaise with key suppliers regarding order patterns and lead times, ensuring business continuity at all times.
* Minimise overstocks and removal of obsolete / redundant components and raw materials.
* Ensure that goods in/out and general warehousing activities are well organised and controlled to sufficiently support production and the goals of the business.
* Ensure materials are ready and available for production as and when required.
* Take responsibility for managing and running planned stock takes, and ensure cyclic stock checks are completed as required.
* Liaise with key suppliers regarding order patterns and lead times, ensuring business continuity at all times.
* Ensure works orders are correct and fully completed and that all stock has been allocated to the job correctly.
* Produce daily/weekly reports to ensure key critical areas of the stock system are controlled and any discrepancies addressed and resolved.
