Team Technician - Rolling Stock

Bromley, Greater London

GBP44k to GBP48k

A new challenge awaits experienced Rolling Stock Technicians or Engineers who are ready to step up into a senior role.

If you have recent experience as a Technician or Engineer on EMU fleets and enjoy complex problem-solving, then I want to hear from you today.

The Role

You will be tasked with undertaking Root Cause Analysis to resolve unit and fleet faults presented to you by the maintenance teams.

Following recognised processes and best practice, you will utilise your technical expertise of rolling stock systems to recommend and implement solutions, engaging with multiple stakeholders to support corrective action.

This critical role will involve;

- Isolate and define the root cause of faults and failures on electrical and electronic systems on modern and mid-life rolling stock fleets

- Gather data and evidence to understand contributing technical or operational factors that have impacted on the performance of the system

- Identify corrective action to resolve existing failures or faults and minimise risk of reoccurrence

- Collaborate with the Engineering and Production teams to agree and implement recommendations

- Complete system testing and monitor ongoing performance

This is a senior engineering role where you will lead by example as you coach and mentor maintenance teams to support upskilling across the production environment. This will require you to get hands-on at times as you oversee maintenance being undertaken on failing systems.

About You

Your experience of fault-finding and root cause correction on electrical and electronic systems onboard modern or mid-life rolling stock fleets will be essential in this role.

Equally important is a proactive and positive approach to work and your ability to engage with and inspire technical teams.

You are likely to have a full apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline and will champion best practice and continuous improvement processes.

Experience on Electrical Multiple Units (EMU) or Bi-Modal units is preferable to enable you to deliver expertise across all fleets.

The Company and Benefits

An excellent package and suite of benefits is available for experienced Rolling Stock Technicians with knowledge of electrical fleets.

Ongoing development and career progression is assured with this Company who provide a range of life-long learning support and actively encourage promotion from within.

You can expect a competitive basic salary and allowances, free and discounted travel, final salary pension plus much more.

If you are ready to take on this exciting challenge and have the experience and skills we are looking for, then get in touch now.
