A global organisation is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to join their team on a permanent basis to work at their site in Weymouth.
Working within a high technology environment the Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for heading up and leading project teams do deliver multiple, high-value projects from sketch to realisation.
Other responsibilities include: Leading and working closely with multi-disciplinary teams covering Mechanical / Electronics / Software to deliver projects to tight timescales and within specified budgets; Managing project life-cycles; Organise / Chair meetings on project progress; Identifying, articulating and managing the major risks associated with the successful achievement of projects; Providing accurate forecasts; Manage project costs; Board level presentations on project progress; Responsible for ensuring continual roadmaps of products and technologies is laid out to ensure continual success of projects.
In order to be considered for this position candidates need to have a strong proven track record in delivering multiple high value projects from sketch / requirements capture to realisation in an engineering / manufacturing environment. In addition to this the selected candidates need to have a good level of familiarity with Programme / Project Management tools and techniques along with strong leadership and motivational skills. Candidates need to have led multi-discipline teams covering Mechanical Engineers, Electronic Engineers and Software Engineers (specialism can be in any of these disciplines). Candidates also need to hold a formal qualification in an Engineering or Management discipline such as Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering etc. It would be advantageous to be PRINCE 2 qualified, or to hold membership of an appropriate and recognised professional project management organisation i.e. UK Association for Project Management (APM).
The role for Engineering Project Manager is commutable from Bournemouth, Poole, Weymouth, Dorchester, Yeovil, Wimborne and other locations within Dorset / Somerset / Devon and the South West.
