Project Manager - Pumps

Salary Circa GBP45k on experience
My client is a leading engineering group, who are well established within their sector for over 15 years. They work within the pumps sector and work extensively with a number of clients with a particular focus within the water sectors including a number of projects with water boards during the AMP6 period. They have a current head count of around 70 employees but have genuine expansion plans which will likely see them more than double in size in the next 2-3 years.
Due to their current level of business they are looking to expand their Project Management delivery function by recruiting an experienced Project Manager to be based primarily from their West Yorkshire office. The Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery on a number of projects from sales order stage through final sign off completion. The role will interact closely with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements, this will include the reading and understanding of P&IDs. You will need to demonstrate a previous background in Project Management or as a Project Engineer, ideally with experience of pumps or the water sector. The Project Manager will need to deliver projects on time and profitably with a high level of client satisfaction.
Experience of understanding NEC 3 contracts is preferred and the successful candidate must have high level experience of reading piping and instrumentation diagrams, experience of design & visualisation software such as AutoCAD is also essential. You should be qualified to Bachelors level in Engineering or a relevant field. The Project Manager will need to liaise with the Engineering Manager and manufacturing departments to ensure all drawings are correct, bills of materials are accurate, parts are delivered on time and project is installed & commissioned in the required manner and timescales.
Key requirements for the role are:
- Previous history as a Project Manager or Project Engineer in a similar engineering company ideally with experience of pumps.
- High level ability to read and translate P&IDs, including being able to cascade relevant information to internal departments.
- Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD packages and MS Office
- Ideally experience of NEC 3 Contracts
- BS Degree in Engineering or relevant field
- Demonstrable experience of delivering projects consistently on time and profitably
Basic salary for the role is circa GBP45k with the role being based predominantly office based with travel to clients sites as required.
