A leading FMCG Manufacturer is currently seeking a Technical Manager / Assistant Technical Manager to work alongside the Technical Director as a mentor to a site Technical Manager and their future Technical Director. This role will involve travel overseas once per quarter and this can be last minute so a clean passport with no travel restrictions is essential for this role as well as the flexibility to travel.
Assistant Technical Manager / Technical Manager responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining the `Technical Specification Documentation` for every product
Assisting the Global Technical Director on company audits & nutritional training.
Work with local trading standards to maintain Primary Authority
Manage, grow and develop the Nutritional standards to meet business needs
Assist with our development team and the factory nutritionists to develop new products
Assist in supplier development, working with suppliers in a collaborative manner to hold them to and improve the quality and consistency of products that we source from them
Manage the liaison with client on the technical/quality aspects of the business.
Ensure completion of raw materials matrix.
Capture and process complaints, ensure timely communication with the relevant client Technologist and internal operational team as required.
Ensure complaints are investigated fully
Manage and maintain the client action log internally.
Timely feedback to client to close off action log issues.
Ensure all requested samples are sent to client in a timely manner.
Timely completion of questionnaires and reports.
Ensure packaging changes are approved by site technical team before implementation.
Attendance at all new production runs.
Collate and set out technical validation plans.
Ensure validation data is conveyed to client in a regular and timely manner.
Participate in technical KPI reviews.
Support site staff with safe project implementation/meeting implementation plans.
Communicate weekly updates on planned implementations to client.
Ensure trial samples are sent to client for their assessment and approval.
You will be a food Science graduate / equivalent with experience working in a Technical Manager / Assistant Technical Manager / Quality Manager position in a food manufacturing environment.
You will have a working knowledge of BRC and ISO standards, experience in quality systems such as BRC, new product development and supplier development and be able to formulate ideas and help build a world class quality system. You will have a solid understanding of what success looks like from both a factory and product perspective and how to achieve this in an efficient and revolutionary way.
