Security Services Group (SSG), a Business Unit within the Ministry of Defence, is at the forefront of security technology providing electronic and physical protection on military and other Government sites throughout the UK and overseas. The work is exciting and highly challenging, delivering to a prestigious customer base.

JOB ROLE

This role also includes and additional Market Skills Supplement of GBP4K. A company vehicle is available, which includes private use.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for remedial and small/medium new project works across the Southeast of England covering over 85 + Customers/Site contacts and 108 sites.

You will liaise with MOD clients, commercial companies and SSG Operations Maintenance Mangers. In addition you will also be involved in the deployment of Field / Security System Technicians within the region and line management of them. You will see many different locations from working in grounds of high profile residences to normal military environments; the role is very varied you could find yourself dealing with the Royal Household one moment and then the security team at Downing Street.

Out of Hours duties - You will take part in out of hour's rota for Primary On Call Duty Officer. The role requires you to take part in seven days out of hours shift. The tasks involved are receiving phone calls from MOD clients & provide technical support and ensure technicians vehicle stocks of service equipment are maintained as well as auditing their work, vehicle and safety/ access equipment, such as ladders, steps & PPE.

Dispatch of SSG engineers to site to repair or reset IDS, AACS & CCTV systems. The shift rota is based on 1-6 or 1-8 weeks subject to staffing levels, participation in the out of hours rota is mandatory for the role and you will receive a standby allowance and overtime and recall to duty allowance if you are required to recall to duty whilst on standby. Self-motivation is essential as well as the ability to manage several different tasks at one time.

MAIN TASKS

- Management of two administrators and two Technicians to ensure that maintenance work and remedial tasks are undertaken in accordance with client service level agreements. To undertake site visits to ensure and monitor the quality of service is provided as per agreed contracts and relevant standards NSI & JSP440.

- To ensure that the CASH database within the maintenance department is updated with current customer details to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of internal information management.

- Management of work following allocation of labour for project/remedial tasks in accordance with EU Working Time Directive. Liaise with the service planner in relation to resource management.

- Responsibility for administration of Timesheets, GPC collation and T&S forms for Field Technicians and administrators to ensure timely submission.

- To undertake financial analysis for all relevant works making sure that the appropriate margins are achieved, this includes detailed SAGE financial analysis.

- To undertake responsibility for technical support for the SE region and deal with first line calls from field technicians and customers regarding technical issue on site.
