Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for a Logistics Foreman to join our team in St Helens. Working 45 hours per week over 7 days.

Logistics Foreman key responsibilities:
  • Collection Fleet and drivers
  • Developing and maintaining good relations with customers and staff.
  • Adhering to legal requirements regarding hours, highway regulations, permits and legislation indicated by line management.
  • Ensuring security of vehicles and equipment.
  • Promoting safety in the workplace using Viridor systems.
  • Driving any vehicle which you have been trained to operate as directed by the Operations Department.
  • Ensuring drivers are competent and trained in the operation of Company vehicles by reviewing drivers every 6 months and ensure all new employees prior to starting work go through driver assessment and completing company specified hours of training. Maintain records for training.
  • Ensuring drivers undertake work in accordance with Risk assessments, Safe operating procedures and Company Procedures.
  • Ensuring drivers work to specified hours and specified rotas as per company requirements.
  • Along with Transport Supervisor, randomly undertaking vehicle audits to ensure compliance with Company procedures and requirements.
  • Providing replacement cover for traffic controller when required.
  • Ensuring all statutory and Company paperwork relating to the job function is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Working unsociable hours and travel to other parts of the business when necessary.
The ideal Logistics Foreman:
  • Experience of driving LGV vehicles in a commercial environment and full driving license.
  • Thorough knowledge of current legislation of LGV vehicles.
  • Knowledge of Drivers Working Regulations, Drivers Hours.
  • Tachograph / Digital smart card Operation
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to complete necessary paperwork
  • Self-motivated and flexible approach
  • Good customer care skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, often with conflicting deadlines
  • Driver CPC
  • Drivers Digital Card
  • Good standard of education (GCSE/Standard Grade or equivalent)
In return for the Logistics Foreman Leader position, we can offer a salary of £26,000 - £30,00 per annum working for a Company that strives to be environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.
