Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer.Nottingham.Monday to Friday.GBP24,000 - GBP28,000 per annum.Mechanical design engineer position available in a well-established company that manufactures and designs special purpose machinery. This role is a junior position and there is opportunity for the right individual to progress through the company.The successful candidate will be HND to degree qualified in mechanical engineering and have experience of designing SPM, jigs and fixtures or mechanisms. Experience of using Solidworks is preferred.Your role will be to support the mechanical project engineers working up designs and generate detailed drawings for manufacture. You will also be involved in the development of the equipment so a hands on approach to your design will be advantageous. At times you will also get involved with client liaison, going out to client sites with project engineers throughout different stages of the design process.The company designs and manufactures special purpose automation and testing machinery for a variety of industries including automotive, pharmaceuticals and aerospace. They offer a bespoke cradle to grave service from product design to product manufacturing.The Role:* Cradle to grave design process.* Supporting project engineers in the design of SPM.* Create production documentation to aid manufacture and assembly of components.* On site client liaison.The Person:* HND or degree qualified in mechanical engineering.* Experience of designing SPM, jigs and fixtures or mechanisms.* Experienced using Solidworks.* UK Drivers Licence.
