We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineering Trainer Facilitator/Assessor, to join our Hi-Tech & Digital [Engineering & Computing] team, here at South Devon College. You will be required to instruct and facilitate learning for students enrolled on a range of programmes, as assigned by the Section Head and Programme Co-Ordinators, undertake assessment of students' knowledge and competence as appropriate by formal or informal methods and undertake teaching responsibilities commensurate within the requirements of the post in a way which demonstrated the high standards expected of colleagues. This post will include the delivery of functional skills as required across the breadth of the Section. You will also be responsible and contribute to curriculum development and implementation of pastoral and welfare systems provided for students.

The successful candidate will need to hold a relevant level 3 qualification(s) or above in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering (i.e. NVQ & BTEC Diploma or equivalent), and hold English & Maths qualifications GCSE Level C (or equivalent). If not already held you will be required to attain a teaching qualification within the College's specified timescale. We are looking for someone who has recent demonstrable experience of working in an Engineering workshop or environment. You will need to have experience of operating Centre Lathes, Milling Machines, Surface Grinders and CNC machinery and experience of manufacturing products/components to industry standards.

You will need to be able to travel between sites and undertake industrial visits including offsite training and assessment, therefore you will need to hold a full current Driving Licence with access to a car or other appropriate form of transport, due to the remoteness of some of the locations and lack of public transport.
