ASPIRE is Alternative Provision Academy serving Hull and the East Riding. We opened in September 2014 and are based in a new, purpose built site in East Hull.
We are currently the largest AP Academy of its kind in the UK. We are a highly challenging and rewarding organisation with the support and development of students set as our core purpose.
We are currently looking for highly motivated individuals to fulfil Teaching Assistant roles to complement our team in support the social development and learning of students to raise attainment.
We work with students who struggle academically, with attendance or with behavioural and emotional issues. Whilst getting students back on track, we believe that they still have much to offer their local, national and global communities and that they have the right to a high quality education, irrespective of their individual needs, vulnerabilities or barriers to learning.
We are able to use our flexibility and an innovative curriculum alongside opportunities for engagement to take large numbers of vulnerable and challenging students, whilst providing high quality education, life skills, opportunities to develop resilience in preparation for positive post-16 outcomes.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum where students study National Curriculum subjects at Key Stage 3 and a range of GCSEs and Vocational qualifications at Key Stage 4. Through modified learning approaches, intense learning packages and with excellent facilities, we aim to bring students' learning back on track and accelerate progress.
It is essential that the candidates have experience working with children aged 11-16 and has good behaviour management techniques. You should also have a strong character, persistence, plenty of enthusiasm and the desire to help make a difference.
The post holders will need to be flexible and adaptable and be prepared to offer more than support in the classroom and deliver responsibilities as the needs of the Aspire Academy evolve, commensurate to their role and job description.
Good reading, writing and numeracy skills are essential.
