HR Advisor (Fixed Term Contract)

Our client, the world's leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property, infrastructure and construction, is now looking for an experienced HR Advisor on a fixed term contract basis (up to 14 months) to join their existing HR team in Coventry.

As the HR Advisor, you will provide efficient, high quality HR administrative support and advice to managers and employees including the provision of guidance on first line HR policy and process queries. You will be the first point of contact for coaching and supporting managers in Employee Relations issues such as performance, capability and absence management. The role will be responsible to provide guidance and support to managers throughout the recruitment process from approval to offer, including working with hiring managers to understand their needs and advising on the best approach.

Key Achievements & Responsibilities

- Provide professional HR support to business areas in line with overall business strategy and local business needs
- Building relationships with managers to give sound, professional advice on HR issues
- Manage employee relations issues e.g. advice to managers on performance matters and disciplinary issues
- Assist with the delivery and planning of training to managers and employees in the region where appropriate
- Advise on recruitment process from approval to offer, including working with hiring managers to understand their needs and advising on tailored recruitment methods to get high quality candidates at a good value
- Advise on any management change issues, including restructures or variations to contracts
- Consulting, influencing and coaching line managers on people management matters to develop knowledge and capability
- Provide efficient, high quality administrative support (documentation and HR system management) in the following areas:

- Contracts of employment and new starter documentation
- Changes to terms and conditions
- Leavers
- Recruitment
- Maternity/Family Friendly
- Restructures
- Pay Review / bonus
- Employee relations issues (e.g. arranging meetings and producing minutes)
- Benefits administration, advice and communication

- Deliver high quality data and liaise with payroll as appropriate & adhere to payroll cut-off times
- Ensure that the global HR system is maintained and effective communication, training and manuals are delivered to users
- Management of the HR inbox within agreed SLAs
- Provide people intelligence and work with HRBP to deliver solutions
- Support the HR team in other projects and activities as required
- Delivery of policies, processes and tools
- Work with HRBP to deliver people plans

Experience and Skills Required

- HR Advisor experience gained working in a dynamic HR environment
- Significant experience providing HR administration support within a busy environment
- Experience of best practice recruitment methods
- Experience of working in an international organisation
- Excellent communication skills
- Extremely well organised and efficient with the ability to respond effectively to ad-hoc and unexpected issues
- Have experience of undertaking restructures, performance management and formal disciplinary processes and achieving successful outcomes
- Have sound technical HR knowledge
- Able to use initiative
- Experience of influencing managers in dealing with people situations
- Positive 'can do' attitude
- Employment law knowledge
- Providing advice and guidance to managers on HR policies
- Attention to detail
