Broster Buchanan are currently working on an exclusive basis to recruit a Supply Chain Manager for a Liverpool based, privately owned business. Recent acquisitions have bolstered what was already a strong standing within their niche sector and they are now well placed to increase their position in a multi-billion pound market.

The business has grown astutely over the years, constantly adapting and evolving their offering to cater to changing consumer tastes, immediacy of demands and ever sophisticated competition. This newly created role is a direct result of their growth strategy: both the need to 'right-size' what they have now, whilst equally building a business and platform that will be fit for purpose as further acquisitions are integrated.

As Supply Chain Manager, you will take prime responsibility for developing and maintaining arrangements for both domestic and international freight requirements, whilst ensuring compliance with all local regulatory and legal requirements regarding transportation and distribution. Inventory Management, within this stock driven business, is a key requirement. In an arena where consumers demand ever more immediate fulfilment, managing the delivery of this within a complex global supply chain will challenge you constantly.

You will be an integral part of the management and development of a major project in this area, introducing an upgraded WMS system: the ever changing shape of the business and their entrepreneurial nature means that days and weeks are rarely the same. You will be tasked with a number of further projects and initiatives too, supporting a number of Board members along the way. The senior level exposure that you will gain in this role, coupled with the success that they are enjoying within their market, makes this a very interesting brief.

Exposure to a business with a high volume of SKU's and a wide diversity in the range and value of transactions would be a very useful attribute. You will have a strong knowledge of import and export procedures, most likely the movement of freight from the Far East. Speed of thought and action, innovation, independence and the ability to handle a number of projects at the same time are all essential skills to bring to the role; backed up by examples. Senior level exposure, ideally within an owner-managed arena, is a further necessity. In a Liverpool based business who invest in their people and enjoy strong retention levels as a result, this is both a challenging and exciting time to come on board.
