Role - Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Location - Skelmersdale
Salary - GBP33,000 - GBP35,000 + Overtime
Shift - 4 week rotational patter, 12 hour days/nights (please see full shift pattern in role description)
The Company
ATA Recruitment are currently working with a global automated distribution company who have sites across 50 countries and employ in excess of 2000 worldwide. As a company they design, manufacture and supply fully automated logistic solutions for many different clients, they then provide the full service contract which involves recruiting maintenance teams who provide electrical and mechanical maintenance support on a permanent basis.
The site in Skelmersdale is responsible for the distribution of pharmaceutical products, they are now looking for a multi-skilled maintenance engineer who will be responsible for maintaining conveyor based systems on the site.

The Role
The role of Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer will involve:
- The shift pattern will be as followed:
- Week 1: Thursday/Friday/Saturday Days
- Week 2: Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday Nights
- Week 3: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday Days
- Week 4: Floating will do two shifts (try to keep two days together)
- Maintenance of PLC Controlled machinery which includes conveyors, cranes, wrapping machines and stretch wrappers.
- Completing all reactive and preventative maintenance, the site is running at 80% planned.
- Mechanically you will be required to replace faulty parts such as bearings, shafts, rollers and belts.
- Electrically you will be required to electrically fault find, tracing faults back to wiring issues, fault sensors or motor blowouts, you will therefore be required to read and understand electrical diagrams.
- PLC work will involve checking inputs and outputs.
- The site does have 35m cranes therefore you will need to be happy to work at heights.
The Candidate
To be successful as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer you will need:
- An electrical qualification would be desirable, would also consider mechanical qualification with a good amount of electrical experience.
- Experience working as a maintenance engineer in an automated sector e.g. food, beverage, aggregates, automated logistics, pharmaceutical, automotive etc.
- Happy to work at heights.
