Senior Estimator / Chief Estimator Designate

My client is an established successful refurbishment contractor. They have an increasing workload; first class clients and considerable repeat business, turnover is cGBP40m. Their sector coverage includes education, healthcare, leisure, commercial and office work. Key core sectors are higher education and healthcare, including specialist medical suites. They now have a vacancy for an experienced Senior Estimator to join the team to assist with the selection and implementation of a computerised Estimating Package.
You will need
- At least 10-15 years estimating experience in main contracting
- Relevant qualification - HNC/HND, Degree
- Mix of tender experience up to cGBP1-8m, mostly refurbishment, all forms of procurement
- Must be able to do take-offs and build up estimates from first principles
- Ideally some experience of Conquest or other estimating package with the ability to manage the selection and implementation of a new package for my client
- Self-sufficient and able to work independently
- A good conversion rate of tenders priced to contracts awarded
- A good understanding of all the principals of estimating, able to respond and interpret clients' requirements, successfully with winning bids
- A good career track record of success and a stable working background with previous employers
- Be timely, methodical and capable of multi-tasking
- Must be hard working, enthusiastic and commercially minded
- Accuracy, a "cool head", ability to hit deadlines and a calm approach when under pressure are the attributes my client is seeking.
The person will have a stable career track record and a proven background within a well-regarded main contractor as an Estimator/Senior Estimator.
