Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, Maintenance & Engineering Manager
We are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Manager/Engineering Manager for a client located in Birmingham, West Midlands.
Reporting to the Plant Director, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for driving the plant Maintenance department to maximise equipment reliability and ensuring 100% on time delivery.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the planning of the Maintenance function for all maintenance and engineering projects on site, dealing with employee relations and development and organise training requirements
- Produce and maintain Maintenance KPIs and ensure plant shutdowns are planned, resourced and evaluated with labour and spares requirements
- Ensuring all shifts are adequately resourced by controlling movement of labour, holidays and sickness
The successful applicant will:
- Be suitably qualified to a minimum HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Apprentice trained with relevant management/supervisory experience of a large multi skilled maintenance function
- Have the ability to demonstrate improvements and contribute to the strategic planning of maintenance projects, avoiding downtime and improving efficiency where possible
- Have excellent organisation and communication skills, coupled with extensive staff management experience.
- Have full functional responsibility for engineering across the business, ensuring PPM and Reactive Maintenance is carried out correctly in line with company H&S procedures.
- Have strong practical engineering understanding and be able to demonstrate success in seeking improvements in performance and operational methods.
- Have experience gained within "Heavy Industry", Metal Processing, Oil & Gas or Aerospace markets.
As Maintenance Manager you will also have direct management of a team of Engineering Supervisors, an Engineering Planner, a Stores Controller and indirect management of a large multi disciplined maintenance team based on continuous shift patterns.
Candidates that have full awareness of the requirement to be legally compliant eg: L8, LOLER etc will have a distinct advantage.
