Michael Page are proud to be partnering with a highly successful FMCG food group, to source an established Senior Category Manager to be based in Sheffield.

Description
The purpose of the Senior Category Manager is to support delivery of sales and profit growth for the business unit through effective category management and consumer insight.
Your main responsibilities and key measurables will be as follows:
- Work with each site to identify, analyse and recommend new business opportunities including the development of category led NPD
- Be the voice and conscience of the shopper and consumer via the effective use of market data, insight & marketing trends
- Develop & implement shopper/consumer led category plans to support delivery of commercial customer objectives
- Create and deliver compelling selling stories for products in conjunction with Commercial and Development Teams
- Support business planning of each business unit with relevant data & insight
Profile
The successful Senior Category Manager will possess the following key attributes and skill set:
- 4+ years in a customer facing FMCG Customer Marketing/Category Management (ideally with Major Multiples)
- Broad experience of using key category management tools - EPOS & panel data, shopper/ consumer insight, range management, space planning etc
- Evidence of ability to build strategic category/customer plans
- Commercial awareness & acumen - build customer/category plans to meet commercial objectives; able to bring commercial context to decision making
- Able to present category information in a clear, confident & convincing way to all audiences
- Strong communication skills - convey the complex simply and a good listener
- Ability to interpret multiple data and insight sources to solve problems
- Excellent planning & organisational skills
- Attention to detail and right first time mentality
- Intermediate MS Office skills (Powerpoint & Excel)
- Experience of working successfully in a matrix organisational structure
- Self-starter with ability to work independently as this is initially a stand-alone role
