The Payroll Team Leader will be responsible for..

The successful candidate will take full responsibility for delivering operational excellence in the transactional processing for the business, ensuring all clients are paid accurately and in a timely manner. They will assume responsibility for the productivity, accuracy, motivation and people management duties of the Payroll team. They will also assist with the development and implementation of operational process improvements.

You will preferably hold or be studying towards a professional payroll qualification and must have people management experience. In addition to this you will have working knowledge of payroll processing and payroll statutory requirements.

Typical duties will include;

* Ensure all customer queries are resolved within the agreed service charter.
* Implement new procedures to ensure continuous improvement within the department.
* Support and coach team members with any identified training needs.
* Ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
* Lead the team using a performance development planning.
* Support all team members regarding query escalation and resolution.
* Monitor KPI's to ensure they are being met.
* Deputies' for Payroll Manager where appropriate
* Ad-Hoc duties/projects as required.

The ideal Payroll Team Leader will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Essential:

*Understanding of statutory payroll related issues
*Knowledge of current payroll legislation
*Good analytical skills
*Excellent organisational skills
*Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Power-point) & Microsoft Outlook
*Be able to work under pressure
*Payroll Bureau experience

Desirable:

*CIPP Qualified
*Flexible and logical approach to all payroll related issues and processing
*Supervisory experience
