Excellent opportunity to join a large well-known construction company heavily involved in the roll-out of superfast broadband in the UK.
Company Overview
Large PLC construction company enjoying a turnover of around GBP200M a year. They are heavily involved in the utilities sector and they are experts in civil engineering. The business has offices and depots all over the UK. They are a force within the telecoms sector, rolling out fibre optic cables to hundreds of thousands of homes across the UK. They work in partnership with large telecoms business to ensure timely delivery.
Role Outline
We're looking for a Delivery Manager to manage the planning and execution of projects. You may be managing the connections of up to 3000 homes in a project, which could be 200 at any one time. Therefore it's critical to plan effectively; labour, plant and materials. It is also essential for the projects to be completed on time, avoiding fixed penalties from the local authority. You will deploy a number of site teams, supervisors, grab lorries and reinstatement teams, with the help of back office planners and street works coordinators.
Responsibilities
* Reporting directly into the Contracts Manager.
* Take responsibility for the successful delivery of projects.
* Ensuring the Health and Safety of the site is paramount.
* Responsible for effective deployment of plant, labour, and materials.
* Liaising with Head Office, Clients, Local Authorities, etc.
Requirements
* SMSTS (or SSSTS)
* NRSWA, SWQR registered, or equivalent.
* Previous experience as Project Manager or Delivery Manager in telecoms.
* Knowledge of laying services in urban and rural environments.
