Client Summary:
My client is a global engineering organisation currently seeking a SQA Engineer to join their team in Derby. From their Derby base, they design and manufacture complex mechanical and electrical systems for use within the passenger transport industry. With locations across the globe this is a truly international organisation that is seen as a market leader in their sector.
Position Summary
This position requires and experienced SQA engineer to drive systematic and continuous supplier quality assurance. You will be required to promote improvement based around measured data supplementing activities like Supplier Evaluation and Approval Processes (SEAP) and defining quality assurance requirements in specifications. You will be acting as the expert in this area and play an active role in supplier selection.
You will need to demonstrate strong communications skills as you will be dealing with various internal and external stakeholders, as well as being able to work independently in order to make sound judgments based upon standard procedures. You will also be acting as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
Person Profile/Experience:
You will need:
*3 years + in a relevant position
*Experience in dealing with SEAP and PAP processes
*Knowledge of key procurement processes
*Knowledge of IRIS and other relevant standards
*Experience of tools such as SAP and SMIS would be desirable
*Knowledge of basic quality skills and change management
*Profound technical knowledge with regards to commodities
*Practical experience of PFMEA/DFMEA, PAP and APQP
Qualifications:
Degree in an engineering discipline or relevant work experience
