Supply Chain Assistant - Birmingham We are looking for a Supply Chain Assistant for a leading company in railway rolling stock engineering technology installation and upgrading, to be based at their Birmingham facilities. Where they provide services for vehicle enhancement and systems integration and the provision of high quality turnkey project and consultancy services to maximise vehicle utilisation and performance. Working as part of the Supply Chain Team providing support, by dealing in a timely manner with both commercial and administrative tasks. Ensuring that supplier's deliveries are in line with the scheduled requirements and assisting in identifying improvements in existing processes and implementing change to develop efficiencies. This role is ideal for a forward looking individual wanting to join a company working in the Rail industry at an exciting time for the industry. Responsibilities - Maintain / Housekeeping of master purchase order files and integrity. - Collate KPI data and Project Reports monthly. - Issuing and managing of supplier schedules in line with our build requirements and escalate when required. - Attend regular supplier reviews and compile action list as well as assist in maintaining supplier delivery performance reports. - Resolve invoicing issues with Accounts / Supplier. - Raise consumable / tooling orders. - Ensure any risk within the supply base is identified and communicated to the Supply Chain Team and take a proactive lead in resolving supplier related delivery issues when required. - Completion of a cost saving / improvement initiative and demonstration of progress using project tracker and identify improvements in existing processes and implement change to develop efficiencies. Qualifications and Experience - Degree Qualified, preferable or previous experience in a similar role in an engineering firm. - Previous experience in the Supply Chain procurement arena. - Knowledge of engineering drawings, materials specifications and Bill of Materials preferable. - Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel / Word. - Communication and presentation skills - Strong analytical and problem resolution - Excellent numeracy skills - Reliable, flexible and able to demonstrate initiative when working with minimal supervision demonstrating drive and self-motivation.
