A position has become available for an experienced Quality Manager for our client who are a global leader in the manufacture of cosmetic and pharmaceutical products.

Day to Day duties will include the following:
* To effectively manage and continually develop the quality assurance activities of the business in line with the standards expected of it by legislation and customers.
* Ensure the business has a comprehensive set of processes and procedures that match current practise and comply with latest BRC standards, ensuring the business performs consistently & effectively with agreed standards of materials, finished products and operational activities
* Manage the quality assurance team ensuring adequate resources are available to cover all business needs & that team members are developed to the appropriate level to deliver consistent service
* Design and deliver a strategic quality vision for the business that promotes continuous improvement at its core value
* Collaborate with, and provide input to, the quality team headed up by the global quality director to ensure compliance with global expectations
* Co-ordinate all aspects of external audits, from customers, accrediting bodies or third parties, including managing the response to any non-conformances that may arise
* Participate in senior management meetings and provide updates on departmental activity as well as contributing to the overall running of the business
* Execute ad hoc projects within the quality discipline but also in a wider context as needed by the business

As a person you will need the following qualities and experience:
* A background in Quality Assurance oriented career with specific depth of understanding in chemistry and /or microbiology
* Experience in managing a team within a QA environment covering production activities in a manufacturing business
* Strong experience of having people and or processes within a regulatory framework
* Able to travel within the UK, Europe & US when required
* Experience in an FMCG environment, Food environment, preferably to the current BRC standard and including responsibility for laboratory activity (Advantageous)
* MRP expertise (such as SAP or JDE)
