Due to continuing business success and growth we now have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced Production Supervisor to join our team in Rochester.
What will I be responsible for?
As a Production Supervisor, you will take responsibility for competently planning and supervising production activities and ensuring that all operations are carried out in a safe, economical and timely manner in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures. You will also take responsibility for:
- Ensure the PRF operations are managed in line with Health and Safety legislation and Viridor standards.
- Ensure maximum recycling recovery and efficiency is achieved by the shift at all times.
- Ensure the BMS procedures are followed and recorded.
- Ensure planning and licence compliance on all issues relating to the PRF, including weighbridge duty of care compliance.
- Ensure all operators, contractors and visitors are working to maximum efficiency and adhering to company safety systems.
- To comply with all safety instruction and procedures reporting any unsafe practices, accidents or incidents.
- Ensure all sampling and monitoring is carried out and recorded as per company procedures.
- Ensure all mobile and fixed plant maintenance is carried out and recorded as per company and manufactures instructions and procedures.
- Assist in the weighbridge functions; ensure waste being received is acceptable as per the Site Licence, report exceptions by the approved manner.
- Ensure the shift is suitably covered as per Health and Safety and Management requirements.
- Deputise for the Site Supervisor when not on site.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor with a proven track record of supervising a production process successfully. We are looking for someone with great people management skills and a thorough working knowledge of waste processing and recovery operations, together with a good understanding of Health & Safety legislation, including safe systems of work.You will also have the following skills & experience:
- Full driving licence.
- English and Maths GCSE or equivalent.
- FLT, Shovel operator licence
- A proven track record of supervising a production process successfully for a minimum of 2 years
- Knowledge of reports and KPI's and how they are used within a production/commercial business
- Good knowledge of relevant Waste Management Legislation.
- Good knowledge of waste processing and recovery operations
- Good working knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation within a recycling / production operations environment.
- A good standard of administration, cost control and record keeping
